Your Sound Needs To Be Heard

Every person has a sound – a voice of influence. It might be your writing, video skills, ability to teach, a passion for fixing things, love for the elderly or children, a hunger to explore science, a love for technology, or any number of other things.

I believe that your sound is not insignificant.

When God created you before the beginning of time, he thought about you and how you’d uniquely be shaped to influence his creation.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” Jer. 1:5

He wrote these gifts on your heart and dreamed of how you would use them to build His Kingdom.

I imagine that God was excited when he was thinking about it – he could see what communion with his creation would be like. “It is very good!” he said. (Gen. 1) “You are good!” we would exclaim.

It started with Him singing a song of love to us, and we would sing it back to him.

Before sin entered the world, he envisioned what it would look like when you and I were fully surrendered and alive in grace.

His intention was for us to be brave and confident in the face of fear because we believed the truth about our Father.

He knew the earth would feel it, history would be altered when we knew in the depths of our being that HE IS GOOD.

But He knew that many of us would not believe that He’s good and would seek other things. He saw that we would struggle to believe that He even exists. He saw that we’d doubt our own worth and purpose – and we’d put all our trust in our own efforts.

He knew that we would believe that He was wrong and we were right. He knew our doubt would lead us to ruin. He knew that we’d exchange the truth for a lie.

He longed to see his creation fully alive, completely free of sin and death, released to use their gifts to give voice to the wonder of Heaven and the mystery of the Gospel.

So He pulled out all the stops and gave us a gift that would sing a new sound over His people and give them a hope as sure as an anchor. (Hebrews 6:19)

Jesus.

This gift would change everything. He would give hope to the hopeless, grace to the graceless, life to the lifeless and salvation to all who heard and said yes.

We would become like Him and the sound he had intended for us would come alive and be released in creation to carry this message.

Every sphere, every corner of the earth.

Every coffee shop, manufacturing plant, every corporation, every slum and suburb, every individual, every family, and every nation would hear this sound.

Surely after Jesus, we would have no more reason to doubt, no more fear, no more striving.

But the enemy would still try to sabotage our sound. For many of us, we’ve known God called us to something more but we returned to our own efforts and control…we’ve believed the lie of fear again.

I’m here to tell you, the earth NEEDS your sound and God longs to partner with you in the song that He’s been singing since the beginning of time.

He’s singing a song of forgiveness and relationship with the Father.

Do we realize how radically amazing this is?

You don’t need to worry about lack or fear when YOU have a Father who did WHATEVER it took to have a relationship with you again.

HE IS GOOD.

The sound he’s given to you is good. Time spent with the Father is where His Spirit reminds us of who we are – and all the dreams He has for us.

It’s time for your sound.
